Altstadt Brewery Wedding with Carly & Nick
Carly & Nick had one of the best rehearsal dinners I’d ever witnessed – lively games, videos sent in from loved ones far away, and being surrounded in song and dance by a big Italian family. It’s really special for me to hear what this wedding means to them through their family and friends in the heartfelt toasts and speeches.

And from what I saw, THIS is a precious relationship! And they breezed through their wedding with this giddy flirtatious joy that has lasted for years.
The theme that ran through their wedding, from cookies to cover bands: All You Need is Love
One of my favorite moments was taking a few photos of Nick and his family before the ceremony, then I pulled Nick aside for a few shots of just him in his tux. After getting him ready for the shot, I asked him to say her name – Carly – and my shutter clicks. A little flicker passes through his eyes then he grabs his heart, overcome by the thought of her. Eyes glassy with emotion, just the mention of her name and he was lovesick. It even surprised me, I was expecting just a fresh smile! I later told Carly how much that moved me to see his reaction about her, and how much she is loved even when she’s not around.
If you’ve ever seen that Walter Mitty movie, you’ll know what I mean when I say it was one of those “snow leopard” moments. Thankfully, moments like those will abound the whole day long when your heart is as open and full as these two.
Congratulations Nick & Carly!!!
